Avaya Partner ACS release 8.0 was generally available as of 04/06/2009. Avaya Partner ACS release 8's part number or material code is 700469687. It continues along the path of the Avaya Partner ACS release 7.0 in that the built-in processor capacities are up to 5 lines and up to 9 phones. However it improves upon the Avaya Partner ACS 7's feature set by adding the following features: Caller ID to Analog Devices, Network Clock Synchronization with Deactivation option, Name and Extension Display, Modified Caller ID Logs Indication, Absent Text Messaging with Inspect option, Hot Keypad Dialing, Message Alert Notification, Personalized Station Ringing, and Integrated SMDI.

The first thing you need is a processor. It is the brain of the system.

Partner ACS R8 – up to 5 lines and up to 9 phones – Newest release

Partner ACS R6 – up to 3 lines and up to 8 phones
If you need to expand beyond the capacity of the processor you will need a carrier. I recommend the 5 slot carrier as it is more durable and more expandable to add up to 4 more modules beyond that of the processor.

The expansion cards below are named by the first digit representing the maximum number of lines and the following 2 digits representing the maximum # of extensions – i.e. a 308EC adds up to 3 lines and up to 8 phones and the EC represents it is an “E” expansion module and the “C” for that it is caller ID compatible. The T-1 module adds up to 16 more lines – click on the link for more information on that.

If you need a Partner ACS Voice Mail Solution all of the options come with an Automated Attendant and call routing options. There are the 2 port compact Partner Voice Messaging PC cards with up to 4 mailboxes on the PVM (Partner Voice Messaging) Small or up to 16 mailboxes on the PVM Large with a 2 simultaneous user capacity for either, going through the prompts, leaving or checking a voice mail. Or the more robust Partner Messaging Module that comes with a capacity of 2, 4 or 6 simultaneous users (depending on which port license card you choose (required for functionality) - 4 or 6 port license cards are required for Call Recording), up to 4 Automated Attendants, up to 99 sub-menu's and up to 200 mailboxes with advanced features like Out calling, Unified Messaging ( Voice Mail to E-Mail), Call Recording & more! If you are unable to resolve any programming issues by yourself let me know and I can have my technician either call you for support at $60 per 30 minutes with a 30 minute minimum billed in 15 minute increments after that or have my local technician come out at $125/hr with a $75 visit trip. If wiring is needed in a standard office environment with drywalls and drop ceilings and within 120’ of the processor they are $75 each – individual wire runs are needed from the phone system processor to each individual phone for a phone system.
For New System Installs - Install estimates are based off of 30 minutes per phone and if a system voice mail solution is involved 45 minutes per extension not to exceed 3 hours over that estimate. Trouble shooting is not included in the estimate and if applicable is billed separately.

The big differences are that the Avaya Partner 3920 Cordless phone has 8 programmable buttons that can be used for line appearance or for system features and the 3920 has repeaters to extend the range. The range of the Avaya Partner 3920 Cordless Phone in an open field line of site environment is 700 feet and for an in building environment the range between 100 to 350 with 160 feet being the average range from a base unit or repeater. A maximum of 20 radio transmitting devices (base units and repeaters) can be installed at one site. Up to six of those devices can be base units. The base units must be located at least 17 feet apart from one another. The repeaters must be located at least 35 feet apart from base units and
Other repeaters. Please note that each base station needs its own set of repeaters. The coverage area depends on the environment.
